    Mercury Retrograde Fall 2015

This particular Mercury Retrograde is a time to recognize when personal patience is being tested and re-tested. There is a reminder to to look at  experiences with patience, kindness and understanding towards the self.

The usual communication and electronic glitches may interrupt your  flow of peace during the course of the day. You may also be experiencing  frustrating or painful cellular memories. The cellular memories may be triggered by something obvious such as a smell or sound. It may be a particular date or it may be a thought replaying itself in the subconscious mind.

Thoughts that become too painful, burdensome or evolve into panic attacks still hold an emotional charge. Your brain is convinced these events are happening to you again and it quickly goes to work reminding you to take protection or handle the situation. (Fight or Flight)

There are various techniques that can be utilized. These do not need to be associated with the memory. This is not a distracting method but a retraining of the brain. EFT can be very useful when used with a soothing essential oil like Lavender, Stressless, Lemon or Orange. Slowing the breath on purpose while inhaling the essential oil of your choice calms the parasympathetic nervous system and the brain.

Using one or more of the following  techniques will help calm your nerves.

  • Aromatherapy
  • Smile
  • Breathe
  • Spoken Gratitude at a Rapid Pace
  • EFT or Tapping

Capture your thoughts before they capture you and improve your vibrational frequencies that engage all of your senses.

Drag your thoughts away from your troubles… by the ears, by the heels, or any other way you can manage it.  ~Mark Twain

Let him have all your worries and cares, for he is always thinking about you and watching everything that concerns you.

Do not dwell in the past, do not dream of the future, concentrate the mind on the present moment. ~Buddha~

ACTION: For Thought Attacks

  • Keep Lavender oil on hand for it's balancing properties. There are other oils you can use such as Orange which has a high aldehyde content believed to help induce a state of calm.
  • Smile - It confuses the body into relaxing ( this can take a little practice as your body screams at you to stop smiling)
  • Use the breath ( it's free) during times of distressing memories.
    • Three deep cleansing breaths and then slow your breathing as much as possible to imitate a relaxed state
  • Speak your "gratitudes" as quickly as possible to let your brain know you are in the present moment.
