Several years ago Rhonda, my dear artist friend, and I decided to scent some metallic paints with essential oils to create passive diffusers for the holidays.  We glazed mini pumpkins and gourds & even tree branches.

The effect was "scentsational" (my word). So in honor of our oil of the month Rosemary I ran a live FB demo on how to do this. Here is the replay on my website for you to watch.

You will need:

  • Essential Oil of Rosemary
  • Metallic Acrylic Paints
  • Bowls or palettes for the paints
  • Bowl of water for rinsing brushes
  • Water with a dropper for diluting your glaze
  • Various sizes of paintbrushes depending on the size of your mini-pumpkins or larger ones
  • Optional: make-up sponges, q-tips defining or removing paint in certain areas, sponges for effects…

Clean your pumpkins and dry before starting.

Set your intention or think of positive thoughts associated with the essential oil of Rosemary such as:

"I remember positive important things in my life"

"I have mental and spiritual clarity"

"I clear negative energy blocks in my home and attract healthy happy thoughts."

It was believed that ghosts and bad spirits caused illness and disease in days long ago. Rosemary branches and tinctures and mists were made to banish them while using its special powers to attract ghost & spirits that enhanced health and vitality.

Now we know through research that the bad ghost were illness producing bacteria and viruses. Rosemary has been researched for its antiseptic and antibacterial properties. It is used as an expectorant and air purifier.
