 Versatile Lavender

Lavender is one of the most versatile oils used in aromatherapy. Its history is as rich and colorful as the plant itself. Fields of Lavender have captured the hearts of many artists, photographers, writers and poets. The tiniest plant at a nursery can gently demand your attention and almost magically begin to soothe your soul.

All parts of the plants are used during cultivation so there is no waste. The stems, leaves, and flower buds all serve a healing purpose. All parts of the plant can be distilled to make different strengths and varieties of essential oils . The buds can be used to brew relaxing teas and there are culinary varieties used for cooking.

The buds are used in sachets to place in closets, drawers or under your pillow for a restful night's sleep. Many wonderful handcrafted soaps blend the tiny sturdy flowerettes into the formula to be seen througout the soap. Sachets under your pillow or in your pillowcase have been used to bring sweet dreams and chase away anxiety and night worries.

The essential oil of Lavender and the plant is known for its ability to create balance in the mind and home.

  • Simmer a tablespoon of  dried lavender in pot of water to diffuse throughout your home
  • Add 1-5 drops of Lavender oil to an oil warmer filled with water
